Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.

What I understand from your query is that you are having chicken pox/ shingles/ or cold sores on the lips. Shingles is an infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus, which is the virus that causes chickenpox.

Shingles occurs in people who have had chickenpox and represents a reactivation of the dormant varicella-zoster virus. All the three are viral infections.

For such painful sores, treatment includes antiviral drugs, and pain killers like prescription. Also keep the affected areas clean and if you do touch the sores, wash your hands afterward.

It is especially important to avoid touching your face and eyes after you touch your sores and do not use any creams or ointments on sores unless prescribed by your healthcare provider.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Regards.
