Dont know why this has been happening to me? Pls help
Thanks for posting your query.
Heart palpitations may be due to cardiac problem or due to systemic illness and panic attacks.
Feeling heart beat means palpitations. If all cardiac reports are normal and cardiac evaluation is normal then this possibility is ruled out.
But If, these cardiac investigations have some doubt then you can go for electro-physiological studies of heart.
Blood investigations are thyroid profile, serum electrolytes, complete blood count, renal function test.
If all these investigations are also normal then there may be possibilities of Panic attacks.
Panic attack is psychiatric neurotic disease in which because of neurotransmitters imbalance, patient may have palpitation ans tremor feeling.
You should also go for UGI Endoscopy to rule out any gastric problem.
You should consult with Physician/ cardiologist and get your ECG and 2 D echo.
You should also consult with psychiatrist, if needed.
Put your query if you have.
Thanks,

I had gone a complete health check up 3 months back. All reports including cardiac tests were normal and only my TSH was high at around 11. I am on thyroid medication at present.
I also rum 5 kms daily on the treadmill every morning without any problems. Further I am an ex-smoker who quit smoking more than a year back.
Rest I feel very sleepy during post lunch hours during which these episodes of awareness of chest vibrations and feeling of heart beat are most which get subsided by the evening.
The episodes have gone down gradually from January 2011 when I had the first attack kind of feeling.
I hope this will give you more clarity on my problems.
Thyroid problem may cause palpitation but this is more common with hyperthyroidism.
You may have panic attack at sleeping time.
You should consult with psychiatrist and physician.
Beta blockers and benzodiazepines are very effective for this problem.
