Hair transplant is the last modality for treatment of alopecia.
It is done in patients in whom medical treatment will not work or very less vellus hair are remaining.
In advanced stages of alopecia where other treatment are failure hair transplantation can be done.
It is of two types FUE or follicular unit extraction and Strip extraction.
If you have less bald area FUE is better for you.
In this method single follicular units are extracted from posterior side of scalp and planted on frontal bald area.
Rate of surgery depends on actual bald area treated can range from 50,000 to 2 lacs.
When done by a experienced doctor it has very less side effects and good results.
