My leg gave out on me last week a couple of times, it just caved in. It feels like a muscle My legwon't straighten out when I walk.
Brief Answer:
It seems ligament instability.
Detailed Answer:
Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause. From description it seems ligament instability leading to protective muscle spasm to prevent fall.
I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician and get a MRI done to see the ligament instability.
Take care.
