Hello,

Thanks for writing in.

As you said, your mother is suffering from Prolapsed intervertebral Disc.

In this the herniated disc causes pressure over nerve root and this causes pain in distribution of that nerve root.

I would like to know whether this pain in lower limb associated with:-
* Paresthesia and numbness.
* Weakness in lower limb.
* Bladder and bowel disturbances.

In addition x-ray of spine to rule out any bony pathology & MRI of spine is required to see the level and severity of this herniation causing pressure over nerve.
