Question: Hie, my wife is having sharp continues pain on her belly button to the extend that she can not be able to stand up straight, it started with constant stomach pains which has been ongoing for the past two weeks. It is more severe when she coughs

The most probable reason of such pain in the belly button area is umbilical hernia. Through a small hole in the abdominal tissues, some fat or intestine from the abdominal cavity gets out under the skin. When this tissues stuck, give pain, which gets more intense when coughing, standing or even pushing hard on stool.
There should be some small lump present in this area.

I suggest you wife to visit general surgeon and have physical examination. In case of doubts, abdominal ultrasound should be done.
