How Can A Bump On The Head Of The Penis Be Treated?

default
Posted on Wed, 20 Sep 2017
Question: So in February I got a bump on the head of my penis. Then months later I got more and now it's on my shaft. I've had unprotected sex with a random girl years ago before me and my wife got together. We've been together for 9 years now. It is freaking me out as I don't know what this is. It doesn't itch burn nothing like that at all. Never had an std blood check. My wife recently got pregnant and she had an hiv test done because she is pregnant and everything came back negative. I do get occasional cold sores on my lip. Not sure if maybe I broke open the sore on my lip and transferred it to my penis? Any info will be appreciated.

Brief Answer:
The sores from your lips cannot be transmitted to your genital organ.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

It is not very much possible that you had carried a sexually transmitted infection for such a long time and not transmit it to your wife. It is true that men generally do not show any symptoms, but women does. So if your wife had it, it would be quite clear.

On the other side, the best way to know for sure if it is a STD, is to do the testing.

What you are describing may be not an STD as well, like for example a folicullitis. But we can decide that diagnoses, after ruling out all the STD by doing the tests.

I don't think it is related with the sores in your mouth, because it is not much possible that sores from the mouth get transferred to the penis.

I hope my reasoning makes sense and it is helpful to you.
Let me know if you need more clarifications.

Brief Answer:
Possible warts caused by human papilloma virus.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for the photos.

I reviewed them and I think they are warts which are caused by human papilloma virus.
They are not a risk for your pregnant wife, but they are sexually transmitted.

They may go away by itself in about 2 years, or you may consider a visit to a Dermatologist locally who can remove them and make them go away faster.

That being said, I would also recommend that if you haven't done the STD testing yet, then it's time to consider do those so you can rule out the other sexually transmitted infections.

I hope this reassures and helps you.

Let me know if you have other questions or concerns.

Regards,
Dr. Papaqako
