How Can A Lesion In The Brain Be Treated?
Question: Hello Doctor:
As you know by my health history, I went for an MRI of brain with and without contrast three months ago and they found a lesion 11x5mm compatible with a meningioma. I had a very large meningioma to the left side removed about 23 years the size of approximately 6cm. No recurrence from that one but there is another one in the right frontal convesity which was reported as 11x5mm. I just had a three month follow up and this report says no interval change to the 11x6mm lesion. I am hoping this is good they found no change, but I a trying to understand the difference if there has been no change. The MRI three months ago was 11x5mm; this MRI is reported as 11x6mm. Could this be a typo or is it actually growing? Appreciate your input. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Not a cause for concern.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query. Let me assure you that 11x5 or 11x6 are practically the same and does not indicate a change in size. There is a minimal range of variation in the placement of the cursor for the purpose of measuring the size. A millimeter does not constitute an increase in size. It is not due to a typo and is not a cause for concern.
Feel free to write back.
