
How Can A Red Itchy Bump On The Left Wrist Be Treated?

Question: I have a red itchy bump on my left wrist that has been there for a few days, maybe a week, and seems to be getting bigger - please see attached picture.

I am Dr Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, a dermatologist.
I have reviewed the attached photograph and it seems to be insect bite hypersensitivity reaction.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like cortisone cream on the affected area twice daily for 7-8 days and take antihistaminic like tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.
This should resolve this bump.
