Brief Answer:
Need to increase the medication

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Welcome back.

Your current HbA1c is above target. Ideally it has to ideally below 6.5% at your age. The options to bring it down include:

1. Tighten the lifestyle modification

Be regular with exercise and have frequent small amounts of low calorie, high fibre diet

2. Medications

a. You can increase the dose of metformin. You can go up to 3000 mg per day
b. You can add medications - Adding gliptins or glimipride or voglibose will help to bring your sugars under control.

Wishing you good health...

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Brief Answer:
Januvia 100 mg once daily

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Welcome back

There are different drugs available in gliptins. You can consult a physician before starting the medications.

Usually I start the patients on Sitagliptin (Januvia) 100 mg per day or Vildaglipin ( Jalra) 50 mg twice a day.
