How Can Unwanted Pregnancy Be Terminated?
Medical termination using pills is possible
Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. A pregnancy test conducted at this point of time would certainly provide an accurate result and pregnancy would be confirmed.
Unfortunately, terminating pregnancy is not as simple as perceived to be. As you would be at the most 4 weeks pregnant, pregnancy-terminating pills can be prescribed but only after a thorough evaluation ma'am.
The reason why this evaluation is mandatory is because some women have suffered serious and almost fatal side effects (eg. severe and heavy vaginal bleeding, etc.) as they attempted to use these pills at home without a doctors evaluation or supervision.
I understand you wish to terminate your pregnancy, but being not only a doctor but an individual who respects life in general, I would strongly recommend a visit to the doctor who will surely prescribe you medication which can help to terminate the pregnancy within 12-24 hours.
I hope you find my response helpful ma'am and I also hope you understand why I recommend a visit to the doctors. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.
Best wishes.
I have consulted a doctor yesterday, she told me to wait for 5 days more and have scanning. Then she would give medical help.
I am worried this would result in advancement of pregnancy.
I wish to end this as soon as possible as I have some plans with my family on 2nd Oct.
Can I be able to complete this whole episode(bleeding after medical termination) by 2nd oct.
Please let me know if scanning is mandatory prior the prescription.
Should be enough time; scanning will be mandatory
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.
Do not worry about advancement of the pregnancy, 5 more days will not do you any harm, trust me. The doctor planning on conducting the medical termination will have to adequately visualize the gestational sac in order to plan his/her approach for abortion; for this reason scanning will be mandatory prior to medical termination/prescription.
Normally, the procedure takes 24-48 hours maximum; and about a day or two for a full recovery. This is a total of 4 days, added to the 5 days your doctor has requested you to wait, which would be by the 30th of September approximately. If the procedure is planned by the 26th or 27th of September, you should be able to safely attend to planning your occasion on the 2nd of October.
I hope I have explained things in a manner best understood by you ma'am. Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help you.
Best wishes.
