Brief Answer:
Yes it is safe.
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Thanks for using HCM.
Yes, it is safe for the patient to be in that truck.
It is unlikely that he would acquire staph infection from that driver.
Staph from skin infection spreads by touch/close contact. So it is unlikely that he would acquire that infection.
Moreover the driver is on antibiotics already and the chances of getting the infection from him is less.
I hope that answers your question.
With kind regards,

What if the boil is not gone from the drivers chin?
After the anitbioctics? Still safe to take patient for surgery if boil on driver infection is still there?
Is the driver at risk to get reinfected at the hospital?

Brief Answer:
Skin to skin contact
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Skin to skin contact is needed to spread it.
If there is open wound which is still infected, if he touches it and then touch the patient's belongings, he may transmit the infection to those things. And in turn if the patient touches it he may get the organisms. But not in all cases the transmission of organisms lead to infection/disease.
Moreover since the driver is on antibiotics, it is less likely that the boil is still harboring organisms.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
