How Does Low Progesterone Levels Affect Pregnancy?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I am second trimester of pregnancy, 14 weeks. My progesterone level is 24. I am concerned. I had been on progesterone-in-oil shots until 11 weeks of pregnancy, then stopped. My progesterone levels at that time were 39. Now they have dropped to 24. I am worried I will miscarry.
Brief Answer:
Still at safe level
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I am Dr Rakesh Sharma answering your query.
I can understand your concern.
Most doctors like to see a minimum level of 10 ng/ml during the first few weeks of pregnancy. If a woman has low progesterone levels this can be an indication of a threatened miscarriage.
Your level at present is 24, which is good. so do not worry, it is within normal limits.
Chances of miscarriage in nil , because of low progesterone.
Hope I have answered your query.
If any thing else you are welcome, or you can close the query by rating the answer.
