As you know, marvelon is a contraceptive pill containing 2 female hormones: desogestrel and ethinylestradiol.
It is advised to start it the first day of your bleeding. Then, the other day, you can start having sex without worrying about pregnancy. It starts working the following day.
If you did not started to take it the first day of your bleeding, let's say on Tuesday, then, you will need about 7 more days to get a full protection:
- Tuesday is the first day
- you can safely have sex by next Tuesday; unless you use condoms of other contraceptive methods.
Remember to take marvelon the same time each day to stay protected.
