How Long Does Nicotine Stay In Our Body After Smoking?

default
Posted on Fri, 31 Jul 2015
Question: Hello, I did a drug and Nicotine test yesterday and my last cigarette was last month or a little longer than that. Before the last cigarette, I only smoked on occasions. I was nowhere near to smoking a pack or 1/2 pack a day. Is there a good chance I passed my Nicotine screening?

Brief Answer:
No worries, You will pass with flying colors if provided details are true

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. With active smoking nicotine and cotinine levels come very high but only within two weeks of last smoke and not after that.

You had more than a month since last smoke so you will pass the test with flying colors.

Nicotine metabolises to its byproducts like cotinine , anabasine etc and has average elimination half life of 15 hours. So the traces of products will be very minimum to lowest levels of less than 20 ng per ml and to label the test positive for nicotine smoking it should be in thousands. So no worries. You are good to go.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
