How Long Does Ovarian Cyst Take To Grow?
Question: Hello Doctor Rynne,
I was wondering: how long does iot get an ovarian cyst to glow large?
Iam 49, have fibroids and had an ultrasound 12 months ago. I did not have a cyst then.
I then saw my gynaecologist 6 months after the scan and he thought my fibroids did not grow much in 6 months.
Now for about 2 months I feel bloated (on and off, especially before my period, and according to medicine.net this might be an ovarian cyst. Do you think a cyst could grow ion 6 months to the extent it can created bloatedness and fullness?

In my opinion just my bloating we cannot come to a conclusion.Ultrasound might help in confirming the condition.
Coming to ovarian cysts there are 3 types depending on growth speed like -
1)Fast growing type.
2)Slow growing type.
3)Some dont grow and regress over a period of time.
So if you have done ultrasound provide me the cyst size. If not you might need to get an ultrasound to confirm the condition. Also we can know the type of cyst basing on the ultrasound report.
Also I want to know how are your cycles.
Kindly provide me the information for furthur discussion.
