How Long Does Typhoid Fever Last?

I have been prescribed Monocef 1G Injection Twice for 5 Days, with 3 x Dolo 650 Mg for 5 Days & 2 x Pan D for 5 Days.
Since Starting the Prescription, my Fever has gone down from 104F (as on 24/11/2015) to 99-100F on an Average, the Headache has reduced significantly. I do not have any loss of appetite
Would like to get an expert Opinion on the same specifically to how much time should I take to recover
Now convert to oral medicines.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM.
I am Dr Anshul Varshney (Internal Medicine Specialist). I understand your concern.
According to your reports you need to take antibiotics for atleast 10 days.
Since your fever is subsiding now so you don't need intravenous Monocef now.
Taking an oral combination of CEFIXIME and AZITHROMYCIN for the remaining period of 5 days.
The dosage would be decided by your doctor. Most common used regimen is Cefixime 200 mg twice daily with Azithromycin 500 mg twice daily.
The common side effects are Nausea, Abdominal pain, diarrhea that can be prevented by taking a combination of Pantoprazole and Domperidone.
Hopefully your Fever would disappear in next 2-3 days. You would just feel the weakness that would also go away with 2 weeks time.
I hope it helps you.
If you have any further query, please ask me.
Regards

Would also like to know what would be a suggested diet (specifically what to steer clear of) and the specific period in which I may be able to resume my regular diet and activity based on your understanding of my case
With in a week
Detailed Answer:
Hi, As far as diet is concerned, there is no specific diet for typhoid. However, i would recommend you to take more of fruits and green leafy vegetables as they have high level of antioxidant in them.
Just avoid oil and junk food.
i hope with in a week, you would be fine enough to join your regular duties and work as well.
I wish you a speedy recovery.
