Question: Yes I need a arthroplasty operation done on my two small toes next week how long can I expect to have to leave the pins in for the pins will be sticking out somewhat from my toes and will I be limited in walking the first few weeks thank you regards XXXXXXX

Usually after the arthroplasty procedure any pins are not visible outside and complete recovery is seen in 6-8 weeks. After the stitches are removed you can walk comfortably and physiotherapy is started.
The removal of pins depends on the surgeons discretion according the speed of recovery. You will be able to do normal daily activities in 2-3 weeks.
