How Manage When Someone Gets A Seizure?

You can wait for another few minutes.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.
If I would have been your treating physician in this situation,I would have told you that It was likely a seizure. You can wait for another few minutes, say 10-15 minutes,to observe if his consciousness level is improving:
If the consciousness improves, first thing is to make him take his antiepileptic drug and then take him to your neurologist. You should discuss with your neurologist to have some modification in his anti-seizure medication,as Gabapentin in itself is not a good first line antiepileptic drug and he may continue to have recurrent seizures on it.Some other drug like Levetiracetam may be more effective.Gabapentin may be given as add-on.
If the consciousness does not improve, take him to the Emergency room as he will probably need an intravenous antiseizure medication because in that situation,he will have high chances of getting repeated seizures.
If possible, please get an Electroencephalogram(EEG) as early as possible,to know about the current electrical activity of the brain? Is it epileptogenic or not?
Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) of Brain will also help in diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have some follow-up questions,I shall be glad to answer else, please close the thread-rate it and write a review.Your rating will be of help to me.
