How To Avoid Abortion During Pregnancy?
Question: Hi,
I had two missed abortions.
Last one was done at dec 2013.
After my second missed abortion doc suggested me to take some tests sugar,pressure,HSG,etc..
I have done everything and there is no problem for me and my husband.Doc said that it may occurred due to lack of hormones...They advised me to take folic acid continuously.
We leave 3 months gap.
Now i have delayed periods.Pregnancy is confirmed and i have been recommended to take HIV,HCV,HBSAG tests.Done the tests. Results are negative and i was prescribed with susten 200(to take twice a day),fopymin,ecosprin-75 tablets and a wyeth syrup.Do i need to take any other tests or do i need to take any other medicines?
We do not want anything bad happen this time.I'm in fear every day.
Please suggested me what are the things that i need to follow to keep my baby safe....?
Brief Answer:
new tests advised, continue medicines and rest.
Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, sad to read your history but good news is that you have a positive pregnancy now. This time we have to be extra cautious and for that I would suggest you get certain tests done viz
- anti phospholipid antibody
- TORCH IgM and IgG levels
- coagulation profile
Along with these tests you need to take all your prescribed medicines well on time, avoid heavy work and sexual contact with husband.
Take as much rest as possible according to your professional and personal commitments.
Regular ultrasound and gynecologist check ups are of paramount importance. Wish you the best of health and if you have any other query I will be happy to help.

I have done the following tests after my second abortion.Do i need to do it again?
- anti phospholipid antibody
- TORCH IgM and IgG levels
Brief Answer:
no need to repeat tests
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX well if the test results were normal then no need to get them again.
In my practice I would put you on low dose aspirin and low molecular weight heparin but these drugs need regular follow up at fixed intervals and dose is adjusted according to physical attributes of the patient after examination.
Visit your gynecologist and discuss the regimen with her as she will be knowing it already.
Take care and wish you all the best.
