Brief Answer:
sleep towards your left side
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to HCM,
At the third trimester it is important that you sleep on your left side, simply to avoid pressure on the aorta which can decrease the blood supply to the foetus due to compression. However best way to get up is to turn to one side and use support of hands to get up in third trimester to avoid pressure over uterus as well.
Neatly , you cannot control the position of the umbilical cord, as the baby keeps moving inside the womb and the cord may or may not wrap around the neck. You cannot control that by resorting to any position particularly. So I hope i have cleared your doubt.
Regards
