Question: Hi. I got a heart attack four days ago. I got a good ECG result after test and an adverse result of my lipid profile with high LDL Cholesterol. I have been given Carvedilol and Atorvastatin Tablets aimed at correcting my poor cholesterol state.

Question; is this all that is available to expedite my situation? What major dietary adjustments do I meed to make?

Hello!

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I am sorry for the health situation that you had to go through.

Usually the treatment after a heart attack depend upon the specific health conditions you are in and it focus on treating all risk factors to prevent a future heart attack. So the treatment may include:
-A medication to lower blood pressure (if you have high blood pressure),usually is prescribed an ACE-inhibitor drug.
-Statins (like Atorvastatin ) to lower the level of cholesterol in your blood.
-Beta-blockers (like Carvedilol) which are used to protect the heart from further damage after a heart attack. They help relax the heart’s muscles so the heart beats slower and the blood pressure drops, both of which will help reduce the strain on your heart.
-Usually it is prescribed low dose of aspirin ,that acts like a blood-thinner ,to prevent blood-clots formation ,preventing an future heart attack.

After an evaluation of you condition ,your doctor decide which medication is appropriate for you and which is not necessary in your case.

Apart treatment you need to do a modification of you diet and lifestyle.
You should avoid fatty foods (fried, processed foods),avoid sweets, diary and meat.
-Quit smoking (if you smoke) and avoid alcohol.
You should restrict your salt intake and drink plenty of water.
Eat only healthy foods mostly green vegetables, fruits, salad, olive oil.whole grains.
Eat foods rich in omega -3 acids (it heals to lower cholesterol level) like oily fish (sardines, salmon, fresh tuna etc).
It is very important to exercise regularly at least 45 min every day.
At this first part of the recovery you should rest a lot and don't do strenuous activity ,just climbing the stairs one-twice daily ,walking .
After total recovery you should do regular physical activity.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any other question or doubts to clarify.I will be happy to assist you further.
