Brief Answer:
Seems to be drug dependance

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back to me so comprehensively and in detail. This really helped me to pinpoint the problem.

My opinion:
In my opinion, you are having signs of drug dependence , ambien is a sleep aid but also a hypnotic drug that's why your family didn't like the way you acted under its hypnotic action.

You shouldn't have left it altogether it should have been carefully weaned off. But now as it already has happened so i will quickly turn to the solution.

How to deal with the problem:

1-You can can use some other sleep aid, which you can discuss with your doctor, something which causes less dependence and hangover.
2-In my clinic i would suggest my patient to try a benzodiazepene for this purpose.
3-some thing else can also be tried after discussing with your doctor
4- Sleep therapy: you can visit your psychiatrist to learn sleep exercises and therapies but i will suggest you to wait patiently and let your system get detoxed off the drug and reset itself.

What to expect:
It will take some more days, a week or so for your system to detox itself and put brain's chemical balances and sleep cycles back to normal so be patient don't get anxious.

CONCLUSION:
This is called which happens immediately after cessation of the drug and with time it is expected to get better as your body detoxes.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
