How To Rule Out PTSD In A Person With Persistent Fatigue And Sweating?

default
Posted on Sat, 12 Dec 2015
Question: I was a law enforcement officer in XXXXXXX for over 35 years. I have been in multiple events that still hunts me to this day. Shoots, deaths of officers, supervising homicide scenes horrible deaths., diving underwater for bodies. The city cut our insurance and I can not afford the co pay for psychological help. I know I have PTSD however it's not diagnosed. I work out every day to keep my head and rid my motorcycle (of course Safely) I keep myself busy. There are some moments, I am just sitting, and I have internal issues like I am fighting or in gun battles. My heart rate goes up, I sweat, when I awake I tired. What should I do and how can I or should I get help that I can afford. I am not violent towards anyone, in fact hardly no one know of my issues.
I sent this question yesterday and I did not download the answer.

Brief Answer:
PTSD

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am so sorry to hear about your problems with dealing with the deaths and horrific experiences you had as a police officer. In my state XXXXXXX we have numerous patients with PTSD from the gulf wars adn vietnam A good portion of those people are using cannabis as an alternative for treatment for PTSD. It is unconventional but it maybe an option for you.

If you want other options there are medications that can be used like prazosin that will help stop the night terrors and flashbacks. If medication are not your option then you should look into support groups and other community groups that offer counseling.

In summary
1. Group therapy or support groups
2. Individual therapy
3. Medication like prazosin and anti depressants
4. Cannabis

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions or concerns
