I Am 76 Years Old. Why Has My Underarm Hair Gone Away?
Question: Underarm hair loss. My underarm hair has disappeared. I am 76 years old.

The growth of underarm hairs is controlled by male hormones- androgens.
As a man gets older, his androgen (male hormone) levels decline. When this occurs he can lose axillary or under arm hair as well as pubic hair. Both are dependent on testosterone for growth.
Hormone replacement might help in regrowth of the hairs under the guidance of an endocrinologist.
