Brief Answer:
Unlikely to cause immediate death, CONSULT DOCTOR.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing in to us.

Even though Oxycodone is not recommended for use by children below 18 years of age.

In children <50 kg: treatment guidelines indicate the following:
Usually, initiate with 0.1–0.2 mg/kg every 3–4 hours as needed. Adjust according to response and tolerance.

This means in a 3 year old, 0.4 mg x 20 kg = 4 mg.
5 mg is just above treatment guidelines and therefore it is unlikely to cause immediate death. However, immediate medical attention is necessary in all cases of accidental ingestion of Oxycodone by children.

The best method for prevention of accidental ingestion is to keep the medication locked in cupboards and out of reach of children.

Hope your query is answered.
