Is Advil Advisable Over Tylenol For Arthritic Pain?

Question: I have hemochromatosis and I was wondering which is best for arthritic pain Advil or Tylenol given my condition.
Brief Answer:
Considerations.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for the query.
For short term use would recommend you use Advil 400-600 mg every 8 hours.
if your symptoms are chronic you might consider discussing with your doctor who could consider a prescription antiinflammatory such as Meloxicam which is taken once daily and should be safe in the setting of hemochromatosis.
Tylenol may affect liver function which is why I suggested the Advil as an alternative. While significant liver dysfunction would be unlikely with sporadic use of Tylenol - to be on the cautious side would avoid it as long as there are safe effective alternatives.
Thanks again for the query,
Sincerely,
