Is It Safe To Take Allopurinol While Taking Meloxicam?

Hi I am on meloxicam capsules for bursitis of the foot. I normally take 1 x 300mg Allopurinol tablet a day to keep gout at bay. My question is, can I continue to take the Allopurinol while taking the meloxicam? I have been told to stay on the meloxicam for 2 weeks. Thanks in advance. Shane
