Is Aleve Advisable While On Eliquis?
the multaq can decrease the breakdown of the eliquis
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
There is an interaction between the eliquis and multaq that can be monitored by you and your doctor.
Multaq affects the breakdown of eliquis. It decreases its breakdown and this can result in increased doses of eliquis which may or may not have an effect.
Increased doses of eliquis increases the risk of bleeding
Because of this increased risk of bleeding, you would have to be very very careful with the aleve/motrin and all other members of the NSAIDs family eg , voltaren, cataflam etc.
At any signs/symptoms of bleeding- blood in the stool, blood in vomit, cough with blood, nasal bleeding, weakness and dizziness, abnormal bruises on the skin
Your doctor should be aware of their use. An alternative may be suggested such as codeine or paracetamol or tramadol.
Physiotherapy to strengthen the muscles in the knee may also be helpful
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
