Should I Be Worried For Nosebleed In A Child?

I am concerned about my 3 year old granddaughter s nosebleeds. She has had 3 in the 6 weeks that I ve been visiting. There is a lot of blood flow and sometimes some clots. This has been going on for about a year. She seems healthy otherwise and her doctor says this is common in children..Should I be worried?

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding nose bleed of your grand daughter and the observation of your doctor.

I would like to say that such situation I had seen in so many times in my last 27 years of clinical practice, it is basically the little's area of nasal septum which is having confluence of 4 arteries and this bleed time to time in few children and most often this gets improve as child grows but if there is no improvement with increasing age or the episodes are very often than cauterization of bleeding site is the curative procedure.

Regards.
