Question: My blood pressure is 148/94 and my pulse is 116. My heart feels like it is beating out of my chest it is pounding so hard. I have not done any exercise, just working on my computer. I am on Atenolol for my blood pressure, I took it at 4:30 p.m. CST

Do you have any other symptoms such as chest pain or fever, nausea or vomiting sweating? If you have any of these you need to see a doctor immediately. If only palpitation may be stopping work and taking rest should help. But even in that case you need to see a doctor and have an ECG done to rule out any cardiac arrhythmia
