Hi,

Amlopres-AT is a combination medication containing amlodipine and atenolol. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker whereas atenolol is a beta-blocker. These medications are commonly used to treat high blood pressure and some heart conditions.

Reduced libido is a potential side effect of both amlodipine and atenolol, although it is more commonly associated with beta-blockers like atenolol. Beta-blockers can reduce the body's production of testosterone, which can affect libido and sexual function.

If you are experiencing a reduced libido and you are concerned that it may be related to your medication, it is important to discuss this with your doctor. They may be able to adjust your dosage or switch you to a different medication that is less likely to cause this side effect.

It is also important to note that other factors can contribute to reduced libido, including stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship problems. So it is a good idea to discuss your concerns with your doctor and explore any potential underlying causes that may be contributing to your symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
