Is BP Of 160/94 And Pulse Of 69 Normal?

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Jan 2017
Question: Recently my blood pressure started climbing higher - 160/94 and my heart rate starter falling (60 - 69 range) 69 currently. I take two med for bp, Losartan in the am and claravelel (Sp?) in the evening. I have an email sent to my doctor, but given the holiday, I am concerned I may not hear anything until early next week. Considering my numbers have been changing quite materially over the last 48 hours, i'm at a loss. A month ago I was struggling with elevated heart rates, then the bottom fell out. So we adjusted dosages. Then everything was stable for a couple of weeks. Now, bp is going haywire.

Brief Answer:
Visit the ER at the earliest. Do not ignore. Follow up essential too.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query. You should visit the ER and get a dose adjustment done. The raised BP calls for immediate attention. Unless it is managed at the earliest, complications can occur. I am not concerned about the heart rates (be it low or high).

Regards
