Is Cymbalta Safe To Be Taken Post Heart Valve Replacement?
Question: Hello ...
My mother is a XXXXXXX age 86... Had open pig valve replacement of main Aorta 5 years ago. Has since been plagued with depression and anxiety. She has been taking Remeron..?? For sleep/depression and sadly Xanax ( 1/2 of a .25 mg ) during the day for anxiety.
QUESTION: Is Cymbalta a safe replacement of the above mentioned medications.? According to certain information, Cymbalta could help with other aches and pains in the bones (arthritis / Bursitis) . Although I have just read in another search that Cymbalta has an effect upon "Cardiovascular":
Electrocardiogram Changes In Adult:
The effect of CYMBALTA 160 mg and 200 mg administered twice daily to steady state was evaluated in a randomized, double-blinded, two-way crossover study in 117 healthy female subjects. No QT interval prolongation was detected. CYMBALTA appears to be associated with concentration-dependent but not clinically meaningful QT shortening. ?!?
Also my mother has Otosclerosis... .Would you "RECOMMEND" Cymbalta to a patient like this...??? Per her doctor's 'guess' after Negative reactions with Prozac and Zoloft. Help..!
Cardiac Disorders — Frequent: palpitations; Infrequent: myocardial infarction and tachycardia.
Ear and Labyrinth Disorders — Frequent: vertigo; Infrequent: ear pain and tinnitus. HELP ..!!!
