Is HIV And CMIA Test Done Post 104 Days Of Exposure Conclusive?

Question: Hello!
I got tested for HIV I & II (Serum) by CMIA method from XXXXXXX Asia Hospital,
Around 104th day from my possible exposure.
The test results came out "NON Reactive"
I got the result after two hours.
Is it possible to get the results so fast ?
I've read that the CMIA is a 4th Gen test which covers both the Antigens and Antibody. Whereas the Hospital says it is an AntiBody test.
Can this results be termed as conclusive ?

Brief Answer:
The result is definitely conclusive.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Welcome to HCM.
You had got HIV 1 & 2 CMIA negative after 104 days of possible exposure then the result is 100% conclusive and you are absolutely free from HIV. CMIA is very rapid test which can detect both antigen and/or antibody and the result can be obtained within two hours so don't get worried about the accuracy of the test result. For any further query feel free to ask me any time.
Thank You
The result is definitely conclusive.

Thank you so much for the reply sir!
Can you please tell me how this procedure works?
Does it check for only antibodies or antigens (because the hospital says that's an antibody test)?
104 days are enough for the body to show some sort of relevant infection if a person is infected?

It can check both antigen or antibody.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Welcome back and thanks for follow-up.
CMIA test can detect both antigen or antibody and in your case it is for antibody detection as said by hospital but nothing to worry at all because 104 days after the exposure are enough to detect the presence of infection if any would be present so be relaxed, forget about the incidence and move ahead in life happily.

Sir!
As mentioned by you that in my case it is for the antibody, but I never told the hospital of when was the possible exposure.
I went for a random HIV test and once I asked them, they said it's not the antigen but the antibody test. On the report it was written
CMIA method. So I can be assured of a negative status?
Thank you

Yes you are absolutely negative for sure.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Welcome back once again.
The antibody CMIA test after 104 days is negative then it is definitely assuring the negative status because the window period for HIV also varies from 15 days to 3 months. Allay the fear or anxiety related to HIV as you are absolutely safe.

Hello Docotr!
I am really tensed about the stuff I'm reading on the Internet (though I'm still on the Internet).
I reconfirmed that the test I went through was most probably a 4th Generation test. The device used was Abbott Architect and the method was CMIA. The exact exposure (unprotected sex) was 6th March. The HIV Status of the Person is Unknown. The test was performed at 110th day.
Result: Non-Reactive
Do I need to perform a Confirmatory test at six months or can I be 100% Certain of my negative status?

No need to go for repeat test.

Welcome to HCM once again.
You had unprotected sex with person of unknown status and CMIA test after 110 days is nonreactive then it is 100% sure of your negative status and no need to go for repeat test after 6 months because the window period for HIV is 15 days to 3 months.

I want to understand a few things.
Is it that we have started to develop th antigens and antibodies too quickly or the tests have started to detect them early ? How?
The Guidlines in XXXXXXX Like the Naco or National Health Portal still recommend a Six month window! Why can it be?
Are cases like mine need to worry or burry our fear and live a normal and safer life ?
Please elaborate all these answeres. And not with a standard answer (a request) heheh
Thank you sir
And sorry for so much of trouble!

Brief Answer:
You can definitely live normal and safer life.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Welcome back and thanks for follow-up.
The body will take at-least 15 days to develop antigen or antibody against after the infection and that is why the test accuracy is more if done after 2 weeks but this varies from subject to subject. Some may develop it within short time or some may take even 2-3 months for the development of antibody.
It is well proven that 3 months window period is enough for all patients to develop antibody and due to this fact the test result after 3 months of exposure is accurate and 100% conclusive. I agree that in XXXXXXX it is still recommended to take 6 months test but as per International guidelines 3 months test is enough to declare someone free from HIV so you need not to worry or fear at all and you can definitely live normal and safer life.

Can there be a possibility of a false negative?
I've just tested once after the exposure at 110th day.

Bothering you again!
How have you been? I hope you are in the best of your health...
So now as my worry for the window period got over. A new worry began in my head, that weather the Lab/technician has performed the test correctly or might have made some human error.
Though i do not doubt the lab/technicians ability but still I'm worried.
Ive cross checked a lot of times that the test was done on "Abbott Architect Immunoassay" and is an automated 4th Generation Test. Still the worry continues.
What would be your expert thoughts about it? I'm too stressed (always searching stuff regarding it on the Internet)
Regards
Brief Answer:
It is very unlikely.
Detailed Answer:
Dear 0000,
Welcome to HCM once again.
The more you search on internet the more you get bothered or worried so stop thinking too much as the risk of getting HIV infection is not there at all.
It is very unlikely or not possible that lab technician did not performed the test well or there is any kind of human error. It is just your thought nothing more than that so be relaxed and move on in life happily.
Thank You

Yesterday! I got my CBC done from a hospital
Named XXXXXXX Asia Hospital. It is a multi speciality hospital in XXXXXXX
I am under the impression that the Technician did not use a new needle. He used a Vacutainer with a needle (Not a syringe).
The needle was pre inserted and he did not insert the needle infront of me.
Due think I should be worried about any disease with this experience?

1) Can you be sure that if I test again I'd be a negative ?(I've haven't had any unprotected Sex) since the day of possible exposure.
2) Can you tell me if Abbott Architect CMIA is a 3rd or 4th gen Test?
3) I went to a trusted doctor in XXXXXXX Asia. He said you should forget about the needle reuse incident and be rest assured. They might be pre prepared but even if they want to, they can not reuse the needle. Should consider this an exposure and try PEP. Or it is not required ?
Please advice me accordingly. It's a matter of life.
Thank you !!

Sir!
The testing incident happened as such
Around 9:15 pm I went to the Hospital Lab
And got billed for HIV Test.
I Went to the Lab technician and was obviously tensed so I told him how fast can you give me the result. He said I can tell you the result after 2.5 Hours but can not give you the report as it needs to be signed by the Radiologist!
11:20 Pm I went there and he said
It's Non-Reactive.
Due to all these circumstances it led me to think weather was he able to perform the test as per the set standards or not........
I am afraid of getting further tests.
I am confused weather a confirmatory test is needed or not?
Its too much of an issue. I just need to be 100% Certain of my negative status !
