Is H.Pylori Infection To Be Treated With Multiple Antibiotics?

Question: Hi,
I undergone Endoscopy last week and was diagnosed with H-Pylori. H Pylori was positive and the Dr prescribed me Pantocid HP kit for 7 days. On day 4 I suffered with diarrhoea (watery and loose motions). The Dr. stopped the antibiotics and gave another medicine to control diarrhoea. Now he asked me to take simple Pantocid 40 mg for 5 weeks (once during the day). While reading about this bacterial infection, I came to know that the same can be treated only with a mixture of 3 to 4 antibiotics so I got confused. Kindly advise what to do ???
Also would like to know that if Endoscopy result shows Stomach erosion is it Ulcer. My other things are Normal.

Brief Answer:
Start a new course of antibiotics
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
Yes H.Pylori has to be treated with multiple antibiotics.
Diarrhea is a known side effect of Pantocid HP.
It is antibiotic induced diarrhea. You can take probiotic supplements along with Pantocid HP. Probiotics will resolve diarrhea while you are on these antibiotics.
Start a new course of Pantocid HP or Sompraz HP.
Erosion is different from ulcer. Erosion is more of a superficial lesion.
I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.

Thanks for the quick revert.
Shall I visit my Dr. again as he has prescribed me to have Pantacid 40 for 4 weeks.
I have very less knowledge of Probiotics. What are these ? Can you suggest one with dosage ?
Finally for how many days I should take Pantocid HP and the Probotics.
Best Regards
