Question: Have been on warfarin for years due to a proteinS def. INR,s have varied a bit at times, today 4.8,finished a regimen of cleocin two weeks ago for a wound. Have had stomach flu last week , took two tablets of promethizine, have not changed my routine or eating habits,any ideas,willholdwarfrintonight. Any ideas?

Hello Ma'am

After going through the medical details provided by you I would like to tell you that as your INR is towards the higher side yes you can skip tonight dose and reduce the dose to half from tomorrow onwards.

Repeat the INR levels after 7 days and then adjust the dose of warfarin accordingly.
