Is MPV Value Of 13.9 A Cause For Concern?
Question: I recently had a complete blood count performed. All values were squarely within the normal range. However, my MPV was 13.9, which I understand is quite high. I do not have any other symptoms, save for mild-to-medium discomfort (which comes and goes) in my right upper quadrant. Should I be concerned about the apparently elevated MPV? 2.0 is fl above the high end of "normal" seems worrisome.
Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have slightly high MPV.
It indicates the average size of platelets. In many persons there can be slightly larger platelets then normal. It can be considered as normal variation.
If you don't have any symptoms then nothing to worry about these parameters. Just be relaxed. No treatment is required for that.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
