Is Misoprostol Safe To Take Post Surgical Abortion?

Question: I did termination through OT today. i was 6.5 weeks pregnant as per ultrasonography. Dr prescribed after abortion to take two misoprostrol 200 at a time thrice for two days. I am not sure why Dr provided misiprostrol after abortion. Any clarification, i am worried. She did not asked to take any tablet before or in the day of abortion as preparation of termination. When i asked she told not require and i have given misoprostrol now. Why she did not asked misopros oral or vaginal insertion as preperation. Why she asked now to take two missopros thrice daily for two days. Is it correct treatment also she asked to take monocef-o 200 daily two.
Brief Answer:
Given to remove the retained products
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Misoprostol for 2-3 days is given after surgical abortion to expel any slightest products of conception left in the uterine cavity.
It is safe and completes the process of abortion.
Some obstetricians do not give misoprostol prior to surgical abortion if they find the cervix soft and if the process of abortion has started.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
