Is Neosporin Advisable For Cut On Penis Tip?
Question: Hi, I have developed a small cut/abrasion on the very tip of my penis, on the edge of my pee hole, after masterbating without enough lube. Can I just put something like Neosporin on it and try to keep it clean until it heals? Or do I need to do something else?
Brief Answer:
it should heal up
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
This should heal up on its own even if you do nothing but keep it clean. Neosporin is a good idea to help keep down chance of infection and to keep the area from getting too dry. Watch the cut for signs of infection like redness, swelling and pus. If you see that go to your doctor for evaluation immediately. This should heal up just fine without much intervention.
Don't worry, it should be fine in a few days to a week.

After cleaning it (it bled a little) I can't see the cut, looks like a friction burn, slightly red. It hurts like needles when I urinate though.
Brief Answer:
yes
Detailed Answer:
It will be slightly red and inflamed from the trauma and that is normal. It is okay that it bled a little. Until it heals up you may have some pain with urination. It is important though to drink plenty of water, this will make the urine less concentrated and it should burn less.
