Is A PSA Level Of 4.5 A Cause Of Concern?

NOT TO WORRY MUCH; IT FAVORS BENIGN LESION!
Detailed Answer:
Dear gentleman,
I guess there is some problem with your urination or any other significant medical history because people hardly get worried with a PSA level of 4.5 ng/mL. It is generally due to benign nodular hyperplasia of the prostate or some mild inflammation.
Usually a value of 4.0 ng/mL is regarded as normal; but in some studies few people with values less than this value had had prostate cancer...it all depends on the clinical background!
N.B: There is no specific normal or abnormal level of PSA in the blood. In fact the rate of increase in the PSA level is more important! In the past, most doctors used to consider PSA </= 4.0 ng/mL as normal.
Therefore, if a man had a PSA level above 4.0 ng/mL, doctors would often recommend a prostate biopsy/needle biopsy to determine whether prostate cancer was present.
Hope you must answer me with your clinical details.
Regards,
