Is A Beta HCG Level Of 14 An Indicative Of Miscarriage?

Posted on Mon, 3 Oct 2016
Question: Hi doctor. I had an ivf last month and the embryo transfer was done on August 27th.
I went for blood test on September 10th and the beta hcg levels was 200. The doctor repeated the test today after 48 hours and the hcg levels dropped to 14. Is it that I lost the baby or the lab report might be wrong?

Brief Answer:
Failed pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Decrease in the value of beta hCG is suggestive of failed pregnancy.
Lab report is unlikely to be faulty, however you can confirm the report by repeat testing.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Hi doctor but I don't have any miscarriage symptoms like bleeding etc., will it occur if I stop susten injection? Also will there be such a drastic change from 200 to 14 just in 2 days
