Is A Groove In The Incisor Indicative Of Tooth Cavity?

Question: Hi, I brush and floss every day. For the past two years, I have noticed a "groove" in my upper right incisor. It appears to be a light brown / pink color. I'm afraid this could be a cavity. It doesn't hurt, and my tooth isn't any more sensitive than normal. Do you know what this is?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for using HCM.
I am so sorry to hear about finding on your tooth and all the disturbing thoughts this has caused you. With your oral hygiene, it would be very unlikely that this is a cavity. Cavities are common in persons with poor hygiene and would cause symptoms of pain in advanced stages. For now, I will suggest you send an image to me for review and if that is not possible, getting it examined by a dentist would be the best approach for proper examination and advice.
I hope this helps. If you need more information, please do not hesitate to ask more questions and we would gladly address them.
