Is A Growth Inside Lower Lip Symptom Of HPV?
Question: Hello, I am a male 56 years old who unfortunately has cheated on his wife. 3 to 4 weeks later I have a growth inside my bottom lip and am afraid it is HPV.
Brief Answer:
A mucous cyst and a papiloma are also possible
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
The clarity of the picture is not very well to fix the diagnosis from the photograph alone. The surface of the lesion does not appear to be a cauliflower like or thorn like projections to say it is a lesion caused by HPV. A mucous cyst in the inner aspect of lower lip is also common. A benign noninfectious papiloma is also common to occur. A better inspection or a biopsy from the lesion only can reveal the exact diagnosis. Consult a Dermatologist and a oral surgeon for further help. Don't worry unnecessarily.

Would there be a reason why both would occur at the same time? Do you think hiv can be ruled out?
Brief Answer:
Both lesions can occur simultaneously.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back. it is possible to get more than one non-infectious benign lesion occur simultaneously.
Without knowing the sexual activity of yours and your wife and other partners, if any and without any investigation it is very difficult to predict HIV infection with this presentation alone. A consultation with your physician would answer your doubt.
