Question: Hi Doctor About 6 weeks ago I had sex with a woman that I didn't really know, I used a condom but I'm concerned because I think she got her period while we were having sex and I noticed some of her blood on my groin area. And now I have a pimple on my groin area. I've had it for about 2 weeks and it hasn't gone away about a week ago I tried squeeezing it to see if it would pop but It didn't. It's just one pimple but I've been looking at pictures online and it says that Hpv can show as just one pimple.I uploaded a picture, do you think it looks like genital warts or another std or what do you think it looks like?

Brief Answer:
Molluscum Contagiosum

Detailed Answer:
hello. thank you for writing to us.

I am Dr. Kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have viewed the image.
I can see a single, pink to skin colored, raised papuke with a central indentation. It is a lesion of Molluscum Contagiosum(MC). Genital MC is an STD.
I suggest either freezing or electrofulguration.

Thank You Doctor But I don't Know if the central indentation is there because I scratched it or if it was already there before I scratched the pimple. Do you think there's any chance that it is genital warts. And does Molloscum contagiosum has cure? Can I still get more pimples after freezing it?

Brief Answer:
Molluscum is curable

Detailed Answer:
hi.

Clinically it looks very much like a Genital Molluscum Contagiosum (MC)lesion. Warts usually have a verrucous appearance.
Genital Molluscum is very much curable. One or 2 sessions of freezing are usually enough. Treating existing MC lesions reduced chances of developing new lesions as MC usually spreads by autoinnoculation.

Thank you doctor, will it go away if I don't do anything to it? Or will it spread? And how long will it take to go away? I looked at it today and it looks like it is starting to look dry

Brief Answer:
Molluscum contagiosum

Detailed Answer:
hi.

Molluscum contagiosum might get superinfected with bacteria, may autoinnoculate to form more lesions or you may spread it to your sexual partner. Therefore I suggest that you either get it fulgurated or freezed with liquid nitrogen.
