Is A Second Dose Of Rotavac Vaccine Recommended After 14 Weeks Of Birth?

Question: Hi,
My son was born on 31st May 2015. His first rotateq vaccine was given on 16th July.
For the 2nd dose, rotateq was not available in 10th week (19th aug). So we have not yet given him 2nd dose.

We are nearing 14th week now, and still 2nd dose of rotateq is not given, because the same brand is not available.

Can we give the second dose of rotateq in october? If rotateq is not available, can rotavac be given for 2nd and 3rd dose?

Thanks for your answer. So rotavac can be subsituted for rotateq. Also can i postpone 2nd dose to october?

1. As you have no other go - you have to substitute. It is than having less protection with a single dose Rotateq.

2. You can postpone the 2nd dose till October. But all three doses should be completed before 6 months of age.
