Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I would like to know what are your actual blood pressure values?

As far as I understand from your question, you have taken twice Benicar 40mg, which you usually take once.

You should know that the maximal daily dose of Benicar is 40mg.

Anyway in clinical trials repeated administration of up to 80 mg olmesartan had minimal influence on aldosterone levels and no effect on serum potassium.

The main side effect in this situation would be a potential decrease in your blood pressure, causing dizziness and even fainting.

So I recommend you to closely monitor your blood pressure, to stay well hydrated (take plenty of water and juices).

If you experience any adverse effects like dizziness, low blood pressure, abdominal pain, headache, nausea, etc, you should go to the ER for a careful physical examination, and possible treatment with intravenous fluids.

Hope to have been helpful!

Feel free to ask any other questions, whenever you need!

Best regards,

Dr. Iliri
