You can reduce number of Medicine.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your question.
After going through your question, I can understand your concern.
You have very well controlled blood glucose levels.
I would like to advise -
- You should not stop medicines for diabetes completely.
- You can reduce your number of Medicines:
You are currently taking Tab Janumet (Which contains Sitagliptin 50mg & Metformin 500 mg).
You can stop Sitagliptin and increase the dose of Metformin to 1500 mg per day in divided doses.
- Continue exercise.
- Follow diabetic diet : Better to consult near by dietitian who can plan diet for you depending upon your height, weight, BMI & food habits.
- Recheck your blood sugar levels (Fasting & Postprandial) after 4 to 6 weeks, accordingly further reduction in dose of Metformin can be considered.
- Though your Lipid Profile is within acceptable limits, I will recommend you to take statin (Lipid lowering medicine like Atorvastatin or Rosuvastatin) in minimal dose.
You should discuss all this with your treating doctor.
Hope I have answered your question.
