Is Blurred Vision Normal After A Concussion?

Question: My son passed out and hit the hardwood floor causing a concussion. It has been one week and he says the only thing that is bothering him is blurred vision. Is this normal after a concussion? He did have CT and MRI at hospital after the fall and We have an appt with a neurologist in 10 days but want to make sure this is nothing urgent.
Brief Answer:
No need to be worried about blurred vision alone.

Hello
Welcome to Health care magic
I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.
I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that your son had concussion injury and he is having blurred vision.
Blurred vision does not indicate concussion injury to brain, hence no need to be worried.
You need to consult your doctor if he is having symptoms like severe headache with nausea, vomiting, dizziness, double vision...
If the CT and MRI are normal then no need to be worried.
Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.

Thank you

Thank you. He passed out from being sick with a fever, hit his head which caused concussion which then caused a seizure. This was the diagnosis we received from neurologist at the ER. The CT and MRI were normal at that time and my son now says he almost feels himself again with the exception of the blurred vision. So you are saying that there is no need to worry right now? This is a normal side effect of a concussion and we will be fine to wait for our follow up with the neurologist in 10 days?
Brief Answer:
No need to be worried about blurred vision now.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for the follow up question.
Blurred vision is not a sign of concussion head injury.
Hence no need to be worried about blurred vision.
Since CT and MRI are normal no need to be worried right now.
If blurred vision does not improve or if it worsens then need to consult ophthalmologist later.
Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
