Is Colonoscopy Advisable After Smoking Cocaine Joint?

Question: Hey my friend told me after we smoked a joint that there was cocaine in it and what will it do to my colonoscopy tomorrow? I'm kinda scared and don't really want to go anymore but should I still go?
Brief Answer:
Please go for the colonoscopy tomorrow but inform your doctor about smoking
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
Colonoscopy is a small duration procedure and will usually not get affected due to smoking a joint containing cocaine. However it is strongly recommended that you tell your doctor about the use of cocaine and the duration since. This might help them to avoid any particular anesthesia or sedative medication which can interact with cocaine use.
Please avoid taking banned substances like cocaine as it can cause harm on long term use.
For bone breaking pain please take recommended pain relief medicines prescribed to you.
Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.

Well whas the effects of cocaine with getting a colonoscopy and what could happened because I don't know if its ok if i did cocaine and weed?
Brief Answer:
Cocaine can interact with anesthesia to cause problems with heart and brain
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
Thanks for writing back with an update.
The problem is not with doing the colonoscpy but the medications and sedatives given during colonoscopy which might interact with cocaine and cause problems to the heart and brain.
If you smoked cocaine a week before then it is completely safe to get a colonoscopy done. However if you smoked less than a week back then it will help to tell your doctor.
